Overview
SixClouds specialises in delivering quality educational programmes through a variety of bespoke multi-media platforms. SixClouds combines practical and fun educational content with the ease of technology enabled access to bring knowledge to the masses.
The brief was to design a logo and a simple visual identity system for them.
Process & Result
From my research, I found that there are a lot of logos that contain the cloud symbol. As SixClouds was targeting the Chinese market, I also looked into Chinese logos as well, and found a common feature in most of them – they included a “cute” element using either faces or animals.
Given that SixClouds’ mission was to make education less “ugh” and more “aha!”, something playful yet clever needed to be conjured up. Thus, a eureka moment was born when the number “6” and a cloud were matchmade in design heaven.
The “6” was cleverly transformed into what could be described as the world’s most unique hairdo (take that, punk rock!), while the cloud element was sneakily crafted into a face using negative space – because who doesn’t love a logo that plays hide and seek with your perception?
The result? A character that looks like it graduated from both design school and charm school with flying colors!
